A new university in Texas is creating a Bitcoin holding in its endowment fund, Bloomberg reports. The University of Austin (UATX) plans to enroll its first 100 students this fall and says it will offer free tuition to the first batch of students. The university has partnered with cryptocurrency platform Bitcoin, which provides a unique opportunity for UATX's commitment to cultivating future leaders and innovators. The University of Austin said it will hold Bitcoin in its endowment for at least five years. One of the reasons the school chose to create this holding is that many supporters asked if it would accept donations in cryptocurrency. Unchained, founded in 2016, manages more than $6 billion worth of Bitcoin, according to the statement.
