According to Odaily, on June 2nd, a total of 1 billion XRP was transferred to Ripple from unknown wallets in three separate transactions. The first transaction was detected at 5:30 Beijing time, with the XRP coming from a wallet starting with rw2hzLZ. Shortly after, at around 5:41, Ripple locked a total of 800 million XRP, split into two transactions, in a custodial wallet. The total value of this locked XRP exceeded $416 million.
At 5:47, another 200 million XRP was transferred to Ripple from an unknown wallet starting with rhyp1uM. In addition to these transactions, two unknown wallets, starting with rw2hzLZ and rDqGA2G, unlocked a total of 1 billion XRP. Each wallet unlocked 500 million XRP, with a total value exceeding $519 million.
These transactions highlight the significant movement of XRP, a digital asset developed by Ripple. The reasons behind these transfers and the identities of the unknown wallets remain unclear. The large amount of XRP being locked in a custodial wallet by Ripple could indicate a strategy to manage the supply of the digital asset, but this is purely speculative without further information.
