According to ChainCatcher, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce announced a proposal for a joint US/UK “digital securities sandbox” in which companies in both jurisdictions can establish a safe harbor. This will allow companies to safely experiment with securities trading using blockchain technology without having to worry about regulatory warnings.
Her letter proposes inviting the US to participate in a “sandbox”, the first for UK companies by the Bank of England and the Financial Conduct Authority. Peirce said a “cross-border sandbox” could be more transformative than a purely domestic sandbox.
