According to Odaily, personal information of Hong Kong residents is reportedly being sold on the dark web. The hacker, who posted sample data on the forum BreachForums, claims that the data leak is related to the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government's Civil Affairs Department and border control. The leaked information includes phone numbers, full names, identity card numbers, and addresses, and the hacker alleges that the data was leaked from the Civil Affairs Department.

The hacker is selling every 10,000 pieces of information for 1,000 US dollars, and 100,000 pieces of information for 5,000 US dollars, demanding transactions in virtual currency. The Hong Kong Civil Affairs Department, however, denies any signs of intrusion or data theft, stating that there has been no data leak and that they have reported the matter to the police. The Hong Kong Privacy Commissioner's Office also stated that it has not received any reports of data leaks from relevant departments.
