According to Odaily Planet Daily, the United States has imposed sanctions on the head of the Russian LockBit ransomware organization. Previously, Tether had added LockBit-related addresses (starting with 0xf370) to the blacklist, and the UK National Crime Agency (NCA) also announced that it had controlled multiple services of LockBit and dismantled its entire criminal gang.
The U.S. Treasury Department announced on its official website that it has added Bitcoin and Ethereum addresses associated with the Russian ransomware organization LockBit’s affiliates to the sanctions list. The U.S. Treasury Department pointed out that this action is the first action in the ongoing cooperation with the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and international partners against LockBit.
