According to Odaily Planet Daily, Railgun researcher and advocate Alan Scott Jr. said that U.S. senators and intelligence agencies may not be as opposed to privacy-centric encryption protocols as some industry insiders believe. Scott said in an interview at ETH Global in Sydney that based on his conversations with senators in Washington, D.C. and the FBI, he did not see any signs of action on Capitol Hill against privacy encryption projects. He said that many people in the top government positions "are generally sensible, want to do the right thing, and want to protect people."
