According to Odaily Planet Daily, Ducat Protocol announced the launch of UNIT, a native Bitcoin stablecoin based on Runes, on the X platform. Ducat uses Ordinals Inscriptions as a form of smart contracts, Runes tokens, and Taproot upgrades to transform BTC addresses into stablecoin vaults. UNIT will be issued in the form of Runes, compatible with major BTC wallets, collateralized by 150% BTC, and will manage its anchoring completely programmatically. All vaults will be self-hosted.
