According to CoinDesk: Solana's blockchain experienced an outage lasting approximately five hours on Tuesday, triggering a slight drop in the value of its SOL token. However, the token has since recovered most of its decline, slipping from around $96 to below $94 during the outage. The problem appears to have begun at around 09:52 UTC with transactions resuming by about 15:00 UTC.

This is almost a year since Solana's last network outage, which occurred on February 25, 2023. During this outage, block progression was halted due to a performance decline, as explained by Solana validator, Laine. Core engineers had identified a solution by creating a new version for validators to freshly upgrade their systems, according to network validator @mtromp.
