According to Foresight News, the Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute in Australia has selected Filecoin as its preferred method for storing large amounts of research data. The institute has reportedly stored approximately 137 TB of cardiac research data on the Filecoin network's distributed storage solution (DSS) provided by storage providers.
The institute's IT Director, Todd Ryman, stated that the migration to Filecoin officially began in September 2022. The reasons for abandoning local storage systems and cloud-based solutions in favor of Filecoin include cost savings and the ability to share medical data with other researchers.
