Trump plans to issue several executive orders within hours of being sworn in, focusing on combating illegal immigration, regulatory reform and other issues.
On January 9, people familiar with the matter said that US President-elect Trump plans to issue a series of executive orders on immigration, energy, federal staff and regulatory reform within hours of taking office on January 20, striving to quickly and comprehensively implement his policies.
It is reported that the executive orders Trump plans to issue include: requiring action to tighten border crossing restrictions; authorizing the federal government to complete the unbuilt border wall; establishing a mechanism for large-scale deportation; depriving sanctuary cities of federal resources until they stop providing protection for undocumented immigrants.
The Trump team also intends to cut the number of federal employees and force federal employees to return to work in the office by freezing government recruitment.
