DAMAC and MANTRA join hands to put real estate assets on the chain for the first time
DAMAC Group, a UAE-based conglomerate, recently announced that it will cooperate with the blockchain platform MANTRA and plans to chain and tokenize assets worth at least US$100 million starting in 2025. DAMAC has been famous for its huge investments in real estate, hotels, data centers and other industries in the past. Since 2022, it has been the first to open Bitcoin and Ethereum payments. Now it has once again entered the blockchain industry and diversified its assets through MANTRA. The network is tokenized.
Amira Sajwani, Managing Director of DAMAC, said that tokenization will provide investors with a safer, more transparent and convenient way to obtain ownership or income rights of real estate and other investment targets under DAMAC’s name.
MANTRA is a first-layer blockchain specifically designed for real-world assets (RWA) and officially launched its mainnet in October this year. Its CEO, John Patrick Mullin, views this collaboration as a strong endorsement of the entire RWA industry, emphasizing that traditional assets on the blockchain can bring revolutionary progress in investment processes and efficiency. In fact, MANTRA has already partnered with another UAE real estate developer, MAG Group, this year to plan the tokenization of over $500 million in real estate assets; additionally, MANTRA's native token $OM has seen its market value surge by 200% in the past three months, currently reaching approximately $3.6 billion, indicating market optimism regarding the blockchain and its tokenization potential.

Reports indicate that the global RWA market size could reach trillions in the coming years, with major institutions accelerating their layouts.
BlackRock launched the BUIDL tokenization fund in March 2024, expanding its functions across multiple public chains, allowing investors to manage assets and generate returns more flexibly; Tether plans to launch a platform named Hadron in February 2025, providing a complete user interface and API, enabling institutional users to easily complete the tokenization process. Various signs indicate that RWA has moved from niche industries to the mainstream, being viewed as a new opportunity to redefine traditional financial models.
In the United States, DAMAC plans to invest $20 billion in data center construction across several states, integrating technologies such as blockchain, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing into its corporate strategy. Former President Trump recently held a press conference at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, publicly endorsing this massive investment, emphasizing that these AI-driven data centers will strengthen the United States' position as a global technology leader. This move aligns with DAMAC's innovative spirit and further highlights the multinational ambitions of this UAE company.

Looking ahead to 2025, new investment models may reshape traditional finance.
The collaboration between DAMAC and MANTRA not only signifies an upgrade in real estate investment models but also indicates the innovative opportunities that blockchain can bring to various industries. By tokenizing traditional assets, investors are no longer limited by regional and capital thresholds, allowing both retail and institutional investors to allocate funds more easily. As market acceptance of asset tokenization increases, solutions offering quick settlement and transparent management features will continue to emerge.
According to both MANTRA and DAMAC, more details will be announced in the coming weeks, including a list of properties that will be tokenized and related investment prospectuses, with an official launch in 2025. As international financial institutions like BlackRock and Tether, along with various forces in the Middle East, join the RWA tokenization movement, the global capital market may witness a new wave of innovation peaks.
