Fetch.ai recently launched a $10 million accelerator program to support startups focused on AI agents, quantum computing, and high-performance technologies.
Fetch.ai, a Cosmos-based crypto AI company, announced that the accelerator will operate through its Innovation Lab, which aims to combine research with real-world applications. With centers in San Francisco, London, and India, the lab will provide startups with funding, mentorship, and access to Fetch.ai’s agent-based technology to help them scale globally.
“Agents will not only redefine the way we build software, but will also serve as the execution layer for modern technology,” said Humayun Sheikh, CEO of Fetch.ai.
Research and practical application
The new startup accelerator will collaborate with international organizations such as MIT’s Web.lab to offer bootcamps, workshops, and special sessions focused on exploring advanced technologies. Accepted startups will receive tailored support through Fetch.ai’s proprietary AI agent technologies that are able to provide actionable inferences from AI models.
Sheikh also mentioned: “Traditionally, APIs have been the primary mechanism for integrating technologies. However, agents will increasingly replace APIs as the new interface for software to interact and perform tasks.”
He added: “In addition to acting as intermediaries, agents will enable cognitive orchestration of tasks, acting as dynamic tools capable of managing and executing complex workflows.”
Accelerator Details
The accelerator is structured with year-round programs and innovation competitions to ensure startups have access to mentorship and resources, and participating companies will also have the opportunity to showcase to investors and industry leaders at events.
Sana Wajid, chief development officer at Fetch.ai Innovation Lab, said the lab will “continue to support young talent through internship incubator programs and provide early-stage funding to startups.”
Wajid also noted that “[the lab] will prepare the next generation of innovators and leverage their expertise in international innovation. Fetch.ai recently launched a $10 million accelerator program to support startups focused on AI agents, quantum computing, and high-performance technologies.

Are AI agents just a gimmick?
Sheikh said AI agent technology will play a key role in the crypto space and in the ASI Alliance, a collaboration between Fetch.ai, Ocean Protocol, and SingularityNET that aims to accelerate the development and adoption of decentralized AI.
He mentioned: “The AI agent will serve as an intermediary layer to facilitate communication and execution between models, end users, and enterprises. In the context of the ASI Alliance, this function is critical.”
However, some founders of the Solana project have expressed skepticism, arguing that AI agents are overhyped, and since October 2024, social media platform X has been flooded with tokens related to AI agents.
Condz, founder of Web3 startup Acolyte AI, wrote in a Dec. 29 post on X that while 2025 “will be significant for AI agents,” if you look at the narrative alone, AI agents “may be a bubble, most are scams or will never be realized.” He also said that the company is working with the AI community and research organizations to expand global markets and ideas.
