Cryptographer N-K Szabo has joined Samson Mow’s Jan3 — a digital infrastructure company working to advance global Bitcoin adoption — as Chief Scientist, the company announced on Jan. 9.
Szabo’s role as chief scientist includes leading research on Bitcoin’s implications for monetary policy, international trade settlement, and global adoption.
Cryptocurrency guru Szabo said he was joining Jan3 to “help establish bitcoin as the cornerstone of a whole new global financial system.” Szabo wrote:
“By focusing on decentralization and trust reduction, we can address the systemic inefficiencies of legacy systems and empower individuals, businesses, and nations to embrace true financial sovereignty.”
Szabo’s addition to Jan3 comes amid a number of nation-states accumulating bitcoin as a reserve asset and the potential for a strategic bitcoin reserve in the United States.
