According to a report by The Block on January 10, BlockBeats announced that the Ethereum L2 network Arbitrum's development team Offchain Labs has appointed Ira Auerbach as the head of its venture studio and investment department Tandem. Auerbach previously served as the head of digital assets at Nasdaq and held leadership positions at the cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, including global head of its primary business.
Ira Auerbach will lead Tandem in supporting selected blockchain projects. Tandem was established last August with the aim of supporting initiatives that tackle the 'most challenging technical issues' hindering the widespread adoption of cryptocurrency. Tandem is currently collaborating on two projects with its venture studio: Espresso Systems, which is developing decentralized sequencing infrastructure, and Ex Populus, which is developing a gaming-centric XAI blockchain.
