Movement Labs, a Web3 startup building a layer-2 (L2) network on Ethereum, is set to close a venture funding round that aims to raise $100 million. The round would put Movement at a “unicorn” status with a valuation of $3 billion. In the fourth quarter of 2024, Web3 projects raised $1.6 billion, up from the 2023 bear market but down from the peaks of early 2022. In December, Movement launched its mainnet and distributed the MOVE token. It aims to quickly settle L2 transactions with its new mechanism. Share your thoughts on these developments in the comments.
