#Bhutan , a small country in Asia, continues to take steps regarding cryptocurrencies. The country's newly established Gelephu Awareness City (GMC); accepted Bitcoin, Ether and #bnb as reserve assets. An official statement was also made on the subject.
Known especially for its Bitcoin mining with energy obtained from hydroelectric power plants and keeping Bitcoin among its reserves in Bhutan, it continues to take important steps regarding cryptocurrencies.
Last year, the Gelephu Awareness City (GMC) project was launched as a special administrative region in the country. Known for its proximity to China and having a trade perspective, the region aims to progress in infrastructure, education and health packages as well as economic development thanks to its established location.
As this special region, it accepted Bitcoin, Ether and BNB as reserve assets. It was stated that the GMC regime aims to add cryptocurrencies with minimum price risk, easy to buy and sell and deep liquidity to its reserves.
With this step, GMC became the first special administrative region to accept cryptocurrencies worldwide as reserves.
The Binance exchange also shared the announcement on its social media accounts.
The city will also hold a blockchain technology congress in mid-March, which will attract the participation of many business people and structures from around the world.
