27 current and former employees of WeMade's blockchain department, a gaming giant, have filed a lawsuit against the company for 'unpaid' altcoin bonuses, seeking approximately $11 million in damages. The group claims that the company had promised to pay them bonuses based on cryptocurrency performance in recognition of their work surrounding the WEMIX token.
Among these employees, some are still working at WeMade, consisting of members from its subsidiary Wemade Tree (formerly WeMade's blockchain department). The company developed WEMIX, which was first listed on cryptocurrency exchanges in 2020. WeMade subsequently merged with WeMade Tree in February 2022.
