On Tuesday, March 18, 2024, Sui Foundation and Mysten Labs will host the second annual Sui Gaming Summit, the premier GDC side event dedicated to gaming on Sui. Co-located alongside the annual Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, Sui Gaming Summit takes place from 11 AM to 4 PM Pacific Time, two blocks away from GDC’s main venue.
A free event, this year’s Sui Gaming Summit will feature mainstage debates and conversations with Web3 gaming industry luminaries, live gameplay demos, showcases from tooling partners and platforms, and updates on the world’s first handheld gaming console capable of playing Web2 and Web3-based games — the SuiPlay0X1.
“We are thrilled to welcome the gaming industry back to Sui Gaming Summit in 2025,” said Adeniyi Abiodun, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of Mysten Labs, the original contributor to the Sui blockchain. “Last year, Sui Gaming Summit was the birthplace of the SuiPlay0X1. We can’t wait to show you what the Summit has in store for our second year.”
Details of programming and partners will be announced in the weeks to come. Last year’s program included Hilmar Veigar Petursson, CEO of CCP Games, Kirt McMaster, CEO and Founder of Playtron, Andrew Chen, General Partner at a16z Games, Mark Long, CEO of Shrapnel, Johnson Yeh, CEO of Ambrus Studio, and Sangho Kim, the Chief Games Officer of South Korean gaming giant, NHN.
“2024 was a banner year for Web3-powered gaming, both for Sui and the industry as a whole,” said Anthony Palma, Head of Gaming Partnerships. “From hardware devices like the forthcoming SuiPlay0X1 to breakthrough games like Off The Grid, the intersection of gaming and Web3 continues to show promise and traction for enriching the experience of gamers. With so many Sui-powered games launching this year, Sui Gaming Summit promises to be epic.”
