Foresight News reported that the judge overseeing the criminal hush money case against elected President Donald Trump rejected the request from Trump's lawyers to delay this week's ruling while awaiting an appeal. New York Supreme Court Judge Juan Merchan wrote in his ruling that Trump's argument regarding presidential immunity was a rehash of previously failed attempts and was legally inappropriate. He stated that the ruling date remains set for Friday, January 10.

Previously, Trump's lawyers appealed the ruling in his 'hush money' criminal case, requesting the judge to postpone the sentencing procedure scheduled for this week. Trump's lawyers argued that the sentencing must be delayed during the appeal period.
