Ripple launched its stablecoin RLUSD on December 17, 2024, and it quickly gained traction. Since June 2024, RLUSD has processed 33,953 transactions on the XRP Ledger and 1,690 on Ethereum, demonstrating the superiority of using the XRP Ledger.

The sharp growth in transaction volume is expected to continue and may accelerate. RLUSD is designed with regulatory requirements in mind, making it competitive in the current environment. MiCA regulations have been in place in the EU since late 2024, which has led to the delisting of Tether stablecoins in Europe. This opens up opportunities for MiCA-compliant stablecoins such as Ripple’s RLUSD.
