🤷 You received the drop, but what’s next? How to properly fix the profit so as not to catch FOMO later and possibly get several times more than just dumping all 100% of the tokens at the listing.
For example, we can refer to the recent Hyperliquid, where tokens were dumped heavily during the listing at prices of $4-8. But just a few days later, the token was already trading at $25+, and at its peak, even $33. So, it was possible to get several times more profit.
We immediately sell 30-50% of the drop to already have some profit. This way, we cover our costs and make a profit to protect ourselves from the situation when the token goes down and you haven’t fixed anything at a good price.
😬 Next, we leave the second half of the tokens for a long hold, in case of a pump (which usually occurs before the unlocking of investors and the team, this can be tracked in the tokenomics by vesting) or we try to sell/buy a little and thereby speculate.
For example, if you received coins worth $1000, you immediately fix half and take $500, thus you already have some profit. We leave the second half (since now the market is such that many tokens give multiples after listing) and, for instance, in a week, the token may give 2x more, and you will have +50% compared to if you sold the entire drop immediately.
Well, if we were not lucky with the token and it is not growing, but instead falling, and from our half there is even less left, for example, $250, then here either we hold on or we fix it.
👋 It is simply impossible to exit at the highs every time. Therefore, you need to test what works and draw your own conclusions for each project.
