Solana developers have created a quantum-resistant vault to protect users from potential threats

Solana Winternitz Vault is a quantum-resistant vault on the blockchain designed to protect users from ultra-fast computations.

The solution is based on a complex system of hash signatures that generates new keys with each transaction, making it difficult for a quantum computer to attack the public keys.

Winternitz Vault is available as an optional solution and is not applied to the entire blockchain. When transferring, the vault generates a pair of Winternitz keys and calculates the Merkle root Keccak256 for the public key.

Then, a "split" vault is created from two accounts: in the first, the user generates a signature with the amount to be transferred, after which the unspent assets are returned to the second account.

With each operation, the Winternitz Vault creates a new vault, closing the old one, so that the keys of the main account remain undisclosed.
