Telegram and deception in airdrop projects
Guys, I want to talk about something that really annoys me. Telegram is a cool platform that I’ve been using since it first appeared on Play Market and App Store. But lately, it has started to turn into a place where people are just scammed.
What is an airdrop and what is it even for?
Recently, a trend appeared in Telegram: mini-applications with airdrop projects. This is when you perform simple tasks – subscribe, repost, like – and they promise you cryptocurrency for it. It seemed like a cool thing:
Introduction to crypto. Many people started to understand what this thing is – blockchain and tokens.
Free knowledge. People were learning new things, discovering technologies.
Real rewards. There were projects that honestly paid and didn't scam.
But all this good was quickly taken over by scammers.
How do they scam people?
Now airdrop applications are a real chaos. The number of scammers is off the charts:
People are misled, promised millions, but no one pays anything.
They force you to transfer money or freeze assets that you will never see again.
Some are outright stealing, taking advantage of people's trust.
And what’s most disappointing – this is happening in my favorite Telegram. It really annoys me because I believed in this platform.
Why is Telegram doing nothing?
A question for the creators of Telegram: where are you? Why aren’t you protecting users? This is your reputation, your authority! We trusted you, and now we see how scammers ruin everything.
Control is needed. We need to check which applications are launched on the platform.
Trust cannot be lost. If people are disappointed, they will simply leave.
Conclusion
Honestly, I love Telegram. It's a top-notch platform, but it urgently needs to fight this lawlessness. People should feel safe, not be easy prey for scammers.
Telegram creators, hear us: protect your audience. We want to see a platform we can trust.
