ChainCatcher reported that according to Cointelegraph, the first Bitcoin Genesis block (known as Block 0) was mined on January 3, 2009. Over the past 16 years, more than 1.13 billion transactions have been permanently recorded in approximately 800,000 blocks on the Bitcoin blockchain.
As Bitcoin adoption continues to grow, the computational demands of the network are rising exponentially. Network difficulty, the relative difficulty of mining new blocks, has reached a new high of 110 trillion.
ChainCatcher previously reported that the Bitcoin Genesis Block was mined by Satoshi Nakamoto on the afternoon of January 3, 2009 (January 4, 2009 02:15:05 Beijing time), with a block reward of 50 BTC. As of today, it has been 16 years since its birth, and the current total block height of Bitcoin has reached 877,566.
