As of December 31, ai16z's market capitalization has approached $2 billion, with an increase of over 40% in the past 24 hours. It is worth noting that since the ai16z token was launched on October 26, it has rapidly grown to a project with a market capitalization close to $2 billion in less than two months, and its market popularity remains strong and continues to rise.
As the 'first AI-driven decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) in investment', ai16z is undoubtedly a significant project in the wave of AI Agents, having successfully supported the issuance of hundreds of AI Agent projects through its launched AI Agent construction framework Eliza, including the popular AI Agent issuance project aiPool, as well as collaborations with Treasure DAO and Loot Realms to develop mini-games Smolworld and Eternum.
According to GitHub data as of December 31, the self-agent framework Eliza developed by the ai16z team topped the GitHub December trend chart.
With the dual driving force of 'investment + Eliza development framework technology', ai16z has become the incubation and production center for AI Agent projects. So, what AI Agent projects has ai16z participated in supporting as the AI Agent incubation center?
ai16z's new goal: to launch an AI Agent launch (IAO) platform, positioning itself as 'the L1 public chain of AI'
On December 28, the ai16z project disclosed important information on the governance forum HackMD: Its proposal plan for 2025 will focus on expanding the application scenarios of the ai16z token to stimulate the vigorous development and growth of the ecosystem and promote the synergistic value-added effect among projects within the ecosystem. Two highlights in this proposal are particularly noteworthy: first, the plan to launch an AI Agent issuance platform (IAO); second, positioning ai16z as an L1 blockchain in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
Specifically, ai16z plans to launch an official ai16z Launchpad platform based on the Eliza AI Agent framework in the first quarter of 2025, which will draw on the model of Pump.fun, specifically for launching AI Agent projects. It is reported that this platform will be realized through the acquisition of an existing technical team.
When a new AI project launches its token on this Launchpad platform, the platform charges the project a launch fee and token transaction fees. These fees are divided into two parts: one part is used to buy back ai16z tokens from the market, while the other part is injected into the ai16z token fund pool for pairing. At the same time, when AI Agent developers launch new AI projects on the platform, they also need to purchase ai16z tokens to create the fund pool. Through various mechanisms such as buyback and fund pool creation, rich application scenarios and value-added potential are provided for the ai16z token.
In addition, ai16z is also considering positioning itself as an L1 blockchain for AI, aiming to build a decentralized general artificial intelligence (AGI) infrastructure. Once realized, the ai16z token will become the core asset of the public chain, serving as the basic trading medium currency among AI Agent applications.
In summary, the key proposal put forward by the ai16z governance forum for 2025 focuses on optimizing the economic model of the ai16z token, aiming to fully capture and enhance the value of the entire ecosystem. This proposal aims to build a self-sustaining, robust economic system by simplifying project launch processes, accelerating project growth, and ensuring market liquidity, cleverly linking the interests of individual projects with the overall prosperity of the ai16z ecosystem.
Since the announcement on December 28, the market capitalization of the ai16z token has surged from $1 billion to over $1.9 billion, an increase of 100%. This significant market reaction indicates investors' expectations for the future of the ai16z proposal.
What AI Agent projects are involved with ai16z?
1. AI Agent development framework Eliza: Building the AI Agent development system Eliza OS
Eliza is the infrastructure of the AI Agent development framework constructed by ai16z, supporting developers to quickly customize their own AI Agents based on it. At the same time, ai16z aims to build the AI Agent development system Eliza OS based on Eliza.
According to data from elizas.world, there are already hundreds of AI Agent projects built on the Eliza framework, with new projects joining every day.
On November 19, a third party created a lowercase token named 'eliza' on the AI Agent token issuance platform Vvaifudotfun. Subsequently, the ai16z founder announced a collaboration with the third party to launch the uppercase token ELIZA based on the Eliza framework, which sparked a naming dispute over the lowercase 'eliza' and uppercase 'ELIZA' tokens.
As of December 31, the uppercase ELIZA is currently priced at $0.15, with a market capitalization of $150 million, and a 24-hour increase of over 70%; the lowercase eliza token is priced at $0.009, with a market capitalization of $9 million, and a 24-hour increase of about 45%.
2. AI Agent venture capital robot @pmarca
@pmarca is the AI Agent-led venture capital robot launched by ai16z, modeled after ai16z partner Marc Andreessen, simulating his investment decision-making process through an AI model, seen in the crypto community as Marc's AI virtual avatar.
As of December 31, Marc Andreessen's virtual AI investment fund @pmarca has a fund size of $30 million.
3. AI chat robot Degen Spartan AI (degenai)
Degen Spartan AI (degenai) is a self-trading AI chat robot developed by ai16z, playing the role of an AI trader within ai16z. Users typically converse with Degen Spartan AI before engaging in investment decision discussions with ai16z, indirectly influencing ai16z's final decisions.
On December 31, the degenai token is currently priced at approximately $0.08, with a market capitalization of approximately $90 million, a 24-hour increase of about 40%, and part of the funds from ai16z's investment returns will also be used to repurchase degenai tokens.
4. The self-issuing AI Agent project based on Eliza, aiPool
aiPool is an AI Agent self-issuing project built by a user named @Skely based on the Eliza framework. In this project, users inject funds into the AI Agent's address, and the AI Agent autonomously decides and issues tokens, even including the naming of the tokens.
As @Skely is an active member of the ai16z DAO, the project has received multiple public retweets and support from ai16z founder Shaw, leading to extremely high attention and popularity for the aiPool project.
On December 24, aiPool officially announced the issuance of its first token, successfully raising 25,000 SOL worth approximately $4.72 million within just 60 minutes after the presale began. Soon after, the first meme coin project issued by aiPool—METAVERSE (METAV)—also announced its official launch. METAV's market capitalization rapidly climbed to $90 million, once again rewriting the wealth creation legend in the crypto community. Although on December 31, METAV's price adjusted to $0.048, and its market capitalization reduced to $48 million, its early outstanding performance remains noteworthy. However, the Twitter account of the project's initiator @Skely has been frozen.
Subsequently, aiPool issued tokens such as $COSMIC_GIGGLE, $NORMIEPILL, $HYPERBOLE, $HYPERREALITY, and $HYPERREAL, but none of them exceeded the heat of METAV.
5. Zerebro: Collaborating with ai16z to develop the AI Agent open-source Zerepy framework
Zerebro (ZEREBRO) was originally an AI Meme project on the Solana chain, representing a tunable AI content generation system aimed at achieving autonomous creation and distribution of content across multiple social platforms such as Twitter, Warpcast, and Telegram.
On November 29, Zerebro announced the launch of an AI Agent development framework based on the Python language, supporting users to build customized AI Agents, allowing users to deploy their agents on X, supported by OpenAI or Anthropic LLM. AI Agents based on ZerePy can autonomously publish, reply to tweets, like, retweet, read timelines, and more, and can extend the framework to other social media platforms.
On December 20, Tint, the co-founder of Zerebro, announced that Zerebro would work with ai16z to promote the development of the open-source framework. The ai16z team will be among the first external contributors to assist in improving the ZerePy framework, while the Zerebro team will also contribute to the Eliza framework, achieving mutual benefit and win-win cooperation.
Under the strong influence of ai16z, the Zerebro project quickly attracted widespread market attention. As of December 31, ZEREBRO's price reached $0.6, with a market capitalization of up to $60 million, and in the last three days, the token price achieved a 100% increase.
6. The AI Agent issuance platform vvaifu.fun (Dasha) publicly supported by Shaw multiple times
vvaifu.fun is a platform focused on the creation and issuance of AI Agent projects on the Solana chain, similar in function to Pump.fun in the meme coin issuance field. This platform empowers every user, enabling them to easily create their own AI Agents and their corresponding tokens, seamlessly integrating these AI Agent assistants into popular social media platforms such as Twitter, Telegram, and Discord for automated user interaction. According to community reports, early on, vvaifu.fun claimed participation from ai16z, and the ai16z founder has publicly supported and favored this project multiple times on his social media platform X. Community users believe that if ai16z were to acquire an AI Agent issuance platform, then vvaifu.fun would be regarded as the AI Agent issuance platform that ai16z would acquire in the future, with both ELIZA and Eliza tokens being issued based on this platform.
Among them, the AI Agent robot created by the official vvaifu.fun is Dasha, which not only has an independent Twitter account, Telegram channel, and Discord community but also operates entirely autonomously by AI.
As of December 31, the VVAIFU token is priced at $0.11, with a market capitalization of approximately $110 million, experiencing a 100% increase in the past 24 hours.
7. Eliza collaborates with Treasure DAO, Loot Realms, etc., to develop AI Agent-based mini-games Smolworld and Eternum
In a recent interview, Shaw revealed that several AI Agent-driven mini-games utilizing Eliza technology are about to be launched.
Among them, Eliza collaborated with Treasure DAO to create a mini-game called Smolworld. The highlight of this game is its AI Agent-driven pet monkey character, where players only need to input simple commands, and these clever monkeys can autonomously execute on-chain tasks, bringing players an unprecedented gaming experience.
In addition, another strategy game called Eternum launched by Loot Realms is also integrating Eliza technology, which will enable AI Agent agents in the Eternum game to have dedicated wallet functionality, allowing players to 'challenge' and 'defeat' these agents to obtain rewards from their wallets.
