How to seize the opportunity in the wave of AI agent tokenization?

Looking back at October, Virtuals introduced the concept of AI agent tokenization. It was a bold attempt, but at the time, most people were not interested—because the market was not ready.

However, to this day, many agents of Virtuals have achieved returns of 50 times or even 100 times, instantly attracting everyone's attention.

But know that those 50 to 100 times opportunities are not coincidental. If you want to achieve similar high returns, you must layout in advance. You need a clear investment logic and patiently wait for the right moment before others notice.

If you are just entering the market now, you might still achieve a return of 5 to 10 times your investment—this is quite good, but still far from the 50 to 100 times returns of early participants. In hindsight, everything seems simple, right?

So, is it too late now?

Not really, but you need to be more strategic. Projects that were considered 'Alpha' (leading opportunities) two months ago are no longer Alpha now. The ecosystem of Virtuals has become crowded, and the easily picked 'low-hanging fruit' has long been snatched up.

What should I do next?

First, do not limit yourself to a single ecosystem. Whether it’s Base or Solana, whether it’s Virtuals or ai16z, every ecosystem has opportunities worth exploring.

This is not a 'team up' game; you don't need to support one ecosystem while belittling another. Instead, you should look for opportunities wherever there is potential.

For example, I cover multiple ecosystems like Base and Solana, looking for investment opportunities in agents. Although I have a certain preference for Virtuals (often tweeting support for them), I always keep an open mind.

The key is to respond flexibly and seek true value rather than get caught up in factional struggles.

How to choose an excellent agent?

A successful agent needs to have two core elements: uniqueness and practicality. Without practicality, agent tokens are likely to experience short-lived hype and then be forgotten like the vast majority of meme coins.

An excellent agent must provide practical value, and if the team can master 'the art of attracting attention,' that would be an additional plus:

  • Crafting engaging backstories or brand images around agents.

  • Quickly and continuously launching new features to maintain innovation.

  • Actively listen to and meet the needs and expectations of the community.

When these factors come together, the agent has a chance to achieve product-market fit (PMF). Teams that can continue to execute and innovate after finding PMF, such as @aixbt_agent, can dominate their niche and become core projects in the entire ecosystem.

1. Acquire and provide Alpha information

There is a strong demand for agents that can provide signals and insights for trading.

On-chain trading has been one of the hot topics discussed in the Crypto Twitter (CT) community. We not only love to see someone turn $1,000 into $1,000,000 but are also attracted by the fighting spirit they demonstrate in the process.

The first batch of on-chain trading agents captured this kind of enthusiasm. They focused on portfolio growth and demonstrated their trading structures and strategies in real-time. Although this track is still in the early stages, some promising projects have begun to emerge:

  • @Gekko_Agent: A self-improving trading agent based on Virtuals, leveraging @getaxal's infrastructure for efficient trading.

  • @BigTonyXBT: Automated trading execution focusing on mainstream assets based on the Cod3x platform.

Predicting the next wave of market narratives in advance is key to achieving returns over 100 times. This is also the reason I entered the market when the market cap of Virtuals was below $30,000,000.
