The cryptocurrency payment platform MoonPay has announced that it has obtained a MiCA license issued by the Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets. The MiCA regulation establishes a unified legal framework for digital assets across the European Economic Area (EEA), aimed at enhancing consumer protection, transparency, and market stability. The platform stated that after obtaining MiCA approval, it can continue to provide payment services for fiat-to-cryptocurrency and cryptocurrency-to-fiat transactions in Europe. Reports indicate that MoonPay is negotiating to acquire the cryptocurrency e-commerce platform Helio Pay for approximately $150 million, which, if finalized, would be MoonPay's largest acquisition to date.
