Galaxy Research released its 2025 forecast report, optimistic about Bitcoin breaking $150,000 in the first half of next year and testing or reaching $185,000 in the fourth quarter. The driving factors include adoption at institutional, corporate, and national levels, with its market capitalization reaching 20% of gold's market value. The report indicates that Bitcoin will once again be one of the best-performing assets globally on a risk-adjusted basis, and at least one top wealth management platform will announce a recommendation for a 2% or higher Bitcoin allocation. In the other cryptocurrencies section, Galaxy Research predicts that Ethereum is expected to reach a new high price of over $5,500 in 2025, benefiting from relaxed regulatory pressures on DeFi and staking.
The report also points out that in 2025, the world's four major custodial banks will hold digital assets. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) will pave the way for national banks to custody digital assets, leading the world's four major custodial banks to provide digital asset services: Bank of New York, State Street Bank, JPMorgan Chase, and Citibank.
