Bitcoin’s potential price predictions for 2025 are based on three main factors, according to crypto mining firm Blockware Solutions: the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR) plan, the policies of the US Federal Reserve (Fed), and the overall adoption rate of Bitcoin.$BTC
2025 Bear Scenario: $150,000
According to Blockware Solutions’ market report dated December 28, Bitcoin’s bearish scenario in 2025 could see its price increase by 58% to $150,000. This scenario could be especially true if Donald Trump fails to implement the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve plan or if the Fed reverses interest rate cuts. In addition, long-term investors who have held Bitcoin for more than 155 days could accelerate the sale of BTC.
2025 Base Case: $225,000
The report predicts that if the US government converts its Bitcoin reserve into the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, the Fed continues to cut interest rates, and institutional adoption continues to grow rapidly, Bitcoin’s price could rise to $225,000. Blockware also assesses the potential for Bitcoin to reach $400,000 by 2025, but emphasizes that three important factors need to come together for this to happen:
The Fed is pursuing a looser monetary policy.
Accelerating institutional Bitcoin adoption and large companies (such as Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia, Tesla) adding Bitcoin to their balance sheets.
The US government is converting its existing Bitcoin holdings into the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve, as well as purchasing more Bitcoin.
Debates on US Bitcoin Reserve Policy
Microsoft’s proposal to add Bitcoin to its balance sheet was rejected at its annual shareholder meeting on December 10. This could lead to a slower pace of institutional adoption than expected. Furthermore, according to Galaxy Digital Research Director Alex Thorn, the US government has no plans to purchase Bitcoin in 2025. Thorn stated that existing Bitcoin assets will be used instead and that discussions on the reserve policy will continue.
