With the release of the second season of Netflix’s popular Korean drama Squid Game, cryptocurrencies of the same name have been rapidly spreading in the market. However, community members have warned that these tokens may be scams or “rug pulls.”

Blockchain security firm PeckShield reported on Dec. 27 that Squid Game tokens are fake. In particular, one token deployed on Base was revealed to have a distributor as its largest holder, and its value dropped by 99%. Similar tokens have also appeared on the Solana network.

The first season of Squid Game also spawned similar crypto tokens. However, users thought it was a scam when they were unable to sell their tokens. Share your thoughts in the comments.
