Futures ETF on Solana

On December 27, Volatility Shares filed an application for a Solana futures ETF, aiming to capitalize on the growing interest in altcoins.

The fund will reflect the price movements of Solana, focusing on futures contracts on exchanges regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). The strategy may also include financial instruments tied to Solana, with the asset value derived from these investments. This approach could pave the way for broader institutional interest in SOL.

Market analysts noted the timing of this application, as Solana futures are not yet trading on U.S. regulated exchanges. Some speculate that the approval of this ETF could set the stage for a spot Solana ETF in the future.
