How a Ukrainian politician lost $40 million in bitcoins
Ukrainian parliamentarian David Arachamia was an early bitcoin investor. A friend persuaded him to buy 400 BTC.
To ensure the seed phrase didn't fall into the wrong hands, he stored it on his laptop as a file, changing its extension to .avi. However, while deleting movies, he accidentally erased the wallet with the bitcoins as well.
Today, his coins would be worth around $40 million.
