Trump Asks U.S. Supreme Court to Suspend Enforcement of TikTok Forced Sale Order
On December 28, it was reported that on December 27, U.S. President-elect Trump submitted a request to the U.S. Supreme Court, asking to suspend the enforcement of the TikTok forced sale order. Trump stated that he hopes the court will give him time to resolve this dispute through political means after he is officially inaugurated on January 20 next year. On December 18, the U.S. Supreme Court announced that it would discuss the bill prohibiting TikTok from operating in the U.S. again. According to reports, the U.S. Supreme Court will debate this case on January 10, allowing the court to make a ruling on the issue before the law takes effect on January 19. The bill requires TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, to divest TikTok, or else TikTok will be banned from operating in the U.S. ByteDance has made it clear that it will not sell the TikTok business.
