The Brazilian government, through the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI), has implemented new rules that promise to transform the innovation environment in the country, especially in the blockchain and emerging technologies sector.
MCTI Ordinance No. 8,780, published in the Official Gazette of the Union this Tuesday (17), establishes criteria for the application of resources encouraged by the Computer Law (Law No. 8,248/1991) in Equity Investment Funds (FIPs) aimed at technology-based companies.
The measure aims to stimulate the growth of startups and deep techs, strategic sectors that have great potential for economic and social impact. The official document was signed by Minister Luciana Santos, who heads the MCTI in the Lula Government.
