Foresight News reports that Teresa Goody Guillén, former litigation adviser to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and partner at the law firm BakerHostetler, stated that cases brought by the SEC against cryptocurrency companies are expected to decrease in the new year. In the future, the SEC will only be able to file lawsuits involving securities, so if a lawsuit does not involve securities, the agency will refer these bad actors to the Department of Justice and other regulatory bodies, such as the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
