Many times, the money you can earn is determined by the environment you are in.
What exactly are you earning?
This is very important.
But many times, after thinking it through, you will find that what you are earning is not entirely something you can decide for yourself.
For example, let's take a trip back to 2006, when I had just entered society.
Even if I wanted to engage in manufacturing, like opening a small factory, hiring a group of people to operate sewing machines, and processing tags on clothes, is that possible?
No, it’s not possible.
Those who do this are basically coastal villagers; if you are a farmer, it means you can easily get land to build a factory, if you are a suburban farmer, it means transportation is convenient after processing, and if you are a coastal suburban farmer, it means your goods are close to the port.
So what if you are a city dweller?
It’s hard for you to do this kind of business; if you want to do it, your choice is to become a trader, meaning you personally go overseas, negotiate orders, and take those orders to find small factories to negotiate for goods, rather than starting a factory, because you lack their inherent conditions.
Furthermore, at that time, there were many businesses like redwood, jade, wine, etc., could I participate?
No, I could not.
Those all have obvious regional characteristics; either a certain place in Fujian is doing it, or a certain place in Yunnan is doing it.
If you are an outsider wanting to get involved, you either end up with counterfeit goods, or you will always pay a higher price than others, and before long, you will be kicked out of the game.
Do you see it? It’s not that you can just do whatever you want; there must be a bridge between you and what you ultimately want to do.
So when I graduated, it wasn’t a question of whether I wanted to enter the traditional business field, but whether there was that environment.
At that time, the choice that belonged to me, or rather, the game I could join with just one step was?
It was foreign enterprises.
