South Korea’s crypto user base rose to 15.6 million in November, surpassing 30% of the population.

The number of cryptocurrency holders in South Korea reportedly surged in November after Donald Trump won the U.S. presidential election.

On Dec. 25, South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency reported that the number of crypto users in the country rose by 610,000 in November. Rep. Lim Kwang-hyun of the Democratic Party of Korea shared data showing that the country’s total digital asset investors at the end of November stood at 15.6 million.

South Korea has a population of 51.7 million, so the 15.6 million cryptocurrency holders represent more than 30% of its population. Yonhap said that this is the number of investors on five major Korean exchanges, including Upbit, Bithumb, Coinone, Korbit, and Gopax.
