These days, whenever Bitcoin crashes or faces liquidation, the media jumps in, which is quite interesting.
To be honest, there aren't many media outlets that genuinely do journalism anymore. Everyone is busy condemning female hosts for crossing the line, yet they forget that the media itself is also 'falling'.
Many news reports no longer state facts; they only express opinions, just to cater to people's emotions.
The topic of Bitcoin is inherently controversial and easily stirs people's emotional responses. When prices rise and fall, it not only attracts attention but can also make people anxious or greedy. Thus, the media loves to hype this up, all for clicks and traffic.
Why? Because Bitcoin challenges the authority of national currency systems; it is decentralized, allowing for flexibility in how it flows and stores wealth, without being controlled by traditional financial systems.
The media's frequent reporting on Bitcoin is actually guiding people to have complex emotions about it.
How many people in China truly understand Bitcoin? Certainly only a small portion. But to say that no one has ever heard of Bitcoin would probably also be incorrect.
To gain traffic, the media must cater to people; saying Bitcoin is good doesn’t draw as much traffic as labeling Bitcoin as 'evil'.
Human nature is such that it cannot stand to see others succeed.
Seeing someone invest tens of thousands and turn it into millions in under ten years makes most people uncomfortable, even if that person has nothing to do with them. They still feel like moral champions, maintaining the 'order' of the world.
