Bitcoin ($BTC ) is the only one of the top 100 largest cryptocurrencies that has fallen in price over the past 24 hours, according to CoinMarketCap as of 10:30 (Kyiv) on December 24. At the same time, the altcoin market (excluding stablecoins) showed positive dynamics.

Bitcoin has fallen in price by 1.2% in 24 hours. The leading coin is trading at around $94,000. Over the past week, it has fallen by 11.6%.

Bitcoin's market capitalization is $1.86 trillion. The share of BTC in the market decreased over the day from 58.74% to 57.68%, according to TradingView.

As BTC continues to trade below $100,000, analysts at QCP Capital believe altcoins may continue to rise. Experts are monitoring BTC's market share: a significant drop below 58% may confirm a 'shift to altcoins', according to QCP.

The total market capitalization of cryptocurrencies increased by 0.1% over the past 24 hours, reaching $3.46 trillion. The trading volume of digital coins amounted to $201 billion.

The price of Ethereum (ETH) rose by 3.3% in a day, reaching $3,400. The market share of the leading altcoin increased from 11.5% to 11.9%.

Over the past 24 hours, all the largest cryptocurrencies in the top 10, except Bitcoin, showed growth. Solana ($SOL ) saw the largest increase at 5%. The price of Cardano (ADA) rose the least — by 1.9%.

Among the top 100 leading cryptocurrencies, the highest growth was shown by Virtuals Protocol (VIRTUAL) — 30% in a day. The most insignificant growth was by the meme coin Bonk ($BONK ) — 0.1%.

The Fear and Greed Index in the crypto market remains in the 'greed' zone. On December 24, the index stands at 73 points out of 100. This indicates that despite the decline in the leading cryptocurrency's price, investors have not lost their appetite for riskier assets.

At the same time, analysts believe there is a high probability of further declines in Bitcoin's price in the coming weeks. However, this may present a buying opportunity, given the 'sustained tailwind related to Bitcoin's supply shortage', experts say.#BtcNewHolder
