A batch of data containing sensitive information of cryptocurrency conference attendees is circulating on the market. These lists may contain information such as full names, phone numbers, nationalities, job titles and companies, as well as personal and corporate social media links. Some lists even include attendees’ ticket purchase date, ticket type, operating system used when purchasing tickets, number of social media followers, cryptocurrency wallet addresses, and information entered in text fields sent to event organizers. A “sample” of such lists was obtained from the seller, including four lists of approximately 60 to 100 attendees, which appear to be from multiple events, each containing different data points about the attendees. The fact that one seller has access to lists from multiple countries suggests that the international trade in blockchain event attendee data is not isolated, but organized. The seller claims that the data will be used for "marketing promotions and finding customers" and even tries to justify the sale of the “unleaked” data, claiming that the data is “not sensitive information” and that “most people are open to this type of marketing.” (Cointelegraph)
