Analytics platform Santiment recently revealed a list of the top 10 cryptocurrencies in terms of development activity over the past month, with Internet Computer (ICP) coming in at the top with a score of 409.63.
Despite a strong start to December, where ICP price surged above $15, a correction has seen the price drop below $10, according to CoinGecko.
In second place is Chainlink (LINK) with a score of 287.07, followed by Hedera (HBAR) in third place, reflecting the stability of the top three rankings compared to previous reports.
Starknet (STRK) took fourth place ahead of Cardano (ADA), which dropped to fifth.
Despite making early gains this month and touching $1.30 on December 7, ADA is now trading at around $0.84.
Other cryptocurrencies that have secured their places on the list include:
Optimism (OP), Polkadot (DOT), Kusama (KSM), DeFiChain (DFI), and sUSD (SUSD).
Evaluation methodology:
Santiment relies on a dashboard to track ecosystem development activity, where events are filtered to provide an accurate representation of programming progress, while excluding low-value activities such as comments or administrative tasks.
The Santiment team emphasized that the methodology aims to provide a fair comparison between projects, focusing on the quality of contributions and the number of active developers, distinguishing true development activity from the blanket GitHub activity that includes all technical activity, including commits and forks.
