ChainCatcher news, according to Cointelegraph, Spacecoin XYZ has successfully launched its first satellite into orbit, marking the project's first step towards deploying a constellation of satellites that will protect the blockchain network in outer space.

Spacecoin XYZ co-founder Daniel Bar stated in an interview that the first officially standardized satellite is the first significant milestone in bringing the 'Spacecoin layer' into Earth's orbit. The satellite was part of SpaceX's Falcon Heavy and launched at 3:34 AM local California time on December 21.

Bar mentioned that the Spacecoin satellite is the first of many satellites to be launched in the coming months. Spacecoin plans to launch a constellation consisting of 7 to 10 additional satellites by 2025, which will be sufficient for the Spacecoin mainnet to go live.
