Promising player of the Matai Tagoa'i student football team has agreed to receive payments in Bitcoin under his contract with the University of Southern California (USC).
The athlete allowed USC to use his "name, image, and likeness" in exchange for an undisclosed compensation. Part of the money will be paid in the first cryptocurrency through the Strike app. In similar cases, other football players have received up to $4.7 million.
