According to TechFlow, on December 20, SEC Commissioner Hester Peirce once again expressed optimism about reconsidering the SEC’s two major decisions regarding crypto ETFs in an interview with Coinage.
As she last indicated when speaking to Coinage this summer, both physical redemptions and Ethereum ETF staking could be reconsidered. Unlike last time, when the chances of either happening were virtually zero under Chairman Gensler, Commissioner Peirce is optimistic about these changes under the new administration.
She said if you move from a majority of commissioners not wanting things to go well to a majority of commissioners wanting things to go well, then yes, it will be easier,” noting that the path forward on both points will become clearer after Chairman Gensler leaves office on January 20th.
