Craig Wright, a computer scientist who falsely claimed to be Bitcoin’s creator, was sentenced to one year in prison for contempt of court but was granted a two-year suspension. This decision came following a December 19th hearing at a UK court. During the proceedings, it was revealed that Wright had violated multiple court orders related to his false claims about being Satoshi Nakamoto.
Despite being ordered to withdraw his legal claims against Square and Bitcoin developers, Wright continues to pursue these cases. The judge’s decision to suspend his sentence for two years may change if Wright continues to disregard court orders in the future.
