Foresight News reports that the Bavarian Data Protection Authority (BayLDA) has announced the conclusion of its investigation into the compliance of the digital identity project World (formerly known as Worldcoin) with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), ordering World to implement GDPR-compliant data deletion procedures within one month of the ruling taking effect. World is appealing this decision, seeking judicial clarification from the regulators on whether World’s privacy-enhancing technology (PET) meets the EU's legal definition of anonymity.
