When the project Pudgy Penguins (PENGU) was launched on the Binance spot market, our data provider CoinMarketCap (CMC) had a delay in updating the token information, which resulted in the project's market capitalization and fully diluted valuation (FDV) data not being updated in time. Binance immediately synchronized with the CMC team after discovering this, and the CMC platform subsequently updated the relevant data.

Due to the inconvenience caused to community users, Binance has decided to airdrop a total of 135,000,000 PENGU tokens to users who bought PENGU between 22:00 (ET on December 17, 2024) and 22:37 (ET on December 17, 2024). The airdrop will be distributed to the parent account within 72 hours.

The airdrop rules are as follows:

  • Trading snapshot time range: December 17, 2024, 22:00 (UTC+8) to December 17, 2024, 22:37 (UTC+8)

  • Airdrop user scope: Users who purchased PENGU on the Binance spot market (excluding market makers and VIP 4 - VIP 9 users)

  • Rules: Binance will calculate the number of PENGU purchased by eligible airdrop users during the trading snapshot period on the Binance spot market, and distribute a total of 135,000,000 PENGU proportionally.

Example: User A buys 10 PENGU at 22:10 (UTC+8) on December 17, 2024, and sells at 22:47 (UTC+8) on December 17, 2024. The number of PENGU airdrop that User A can receive will be calculated using the following formula:

(10 / Total purchase volume of eligible airdrop users during the trading snapshot period) * 135,000,000 PENGU

Binance sincerely apologizes for any inconvenience caused to users. As a trading platform, Binance uses third-party sources to display data information, aiming to provide users with a more convenient reference perspective. However, the transparency of blockchain means that on-chain data will be the most timely and accurate. While reviewing this with our data providers, Binance will also explore more alternative data sources and diversified data source solutions, taking effective measures to prevent such issues from occurring again.
