BlockBeats reported on December 18, citing Cointelegraph, that a recent poll by Emerson College found that about one in five American voters (19%) said they had invested in, traded, or used cryptocurrency at some point. The survey data was collected from 1,000 registered voters between December 11 and December 13, revealing that nearly 40% of respondents who used cryptocurrency also made purchases with it.

The poll's executive director Spencer Kimball stated: "Cryptocurrency users are younger, with a larger base from minority groups, highlighting that cryptocurrency is a growing and diverse political support group. 57% of cryptocurrency users have a favorable view of Donald Trump." The survey also showed that respondents under 40 make up the largest proportion of cryptocurrency users, with nearly one-third having used cryptocurrency.
