The conflict between the SEC and Musk has escalated again. On December 12, Musk's lawyer Spiro sent a letter to SEC Chairman Gensler, accusing him of having 'ill intentions' towards Musk and revealing that the SEC has reopened its investigation into Neuralink.
The SEC has demanded that Musk accept a settlement and pay a fine within 48 hours, or it will sue him over multiple violations related to stock investments prior to the acquisition of Twitter in 2022. This investigation has been ongoing for several years, and the SEC recently issued a subpoena to Musk's lawyer, which was refused, with the lawyer accusing the SEC of having 'political motives'.
Musk shared this letter on social media, accompanied by a lamenting caption. Spiro questioned the commander of the SEC's actions in the letter, stating that six years of 'harassment' has turned into malicious pressure. The SEC has not responded to this. Additionally, due to calls from animal protection organizations and lawmakers, Neuralink is under investigation again for alleged misleading promotions and securities fraud. What will happen to Musk?
