Foresight News reports that the U.S. Department of Justice has seized approximately 32.68 bitcoins, worth about $900,000 at the time, from a fraudster's cryptocurrency wallet during an investigation into cases related to business email fraud. The U.S. Attorney's Office subsequently filed a civil forfeiture lawsuit for the seized bitcoins, and since the seizure, the value of bitcoin has more than doubled. Due to the continuously rising price of bitcoin, all ten victims who filed claims may be eligible for compensation.
